Meet Lauren

Hey y’all, I’m Lauren — a country girl through and through, born and raised in Live Oak, Florida, where the cows outnumber the neighbors and the sunsets are worth stopping for. Life here moves at the perfect pace — slow enough to appreciate the small things, but full enough to keep you dreaming.

When I’m not working on our family’s little farm, you’ll probably find me out riding my horse along the back trails or packing up for the next rodeo weekend with my boyfriend, Curtis. He’s the kind of guy who still opens doors, tips his hat, and knows every George Strait song by heart — so naturally, he fits right in around here.

I’ve always had a soft spot for old country music — the real kind. My record collection is full of Merle, Willie, and Johnny Cash — and I still think no playlist can top a crackling vinyl and a quiet night on the porch. Somewhere between Curtis tuning the guitar and me chasing fireflies, we make our own kind of harmony.

The Heartland Journey is where I share a little bit of that life — the sunshine, the stories, and the kind of country moments that make your heart slow down.

Whether it’s a recipe from home, a road trip playlist, or a peek at our latest rodeo weekend, this is my way of keeping the spirit of the South alive — one post, one sunset, and one song at a time.

Welcome to The Heartland Journey — I’m so glad you found your way here.
