My sweet friend Marika finally got me to try homemade almond milk after sending me the cutest homemade do-it-yourself kit and now we’re addicted to making it. Not kidding, after you try this, you’ll never want to buy store bought almond milk again. And, if you’ve never tried almond milk before, trust me on this one. You might even want to switch from coffee to have a steamed cup of this every morning sprinkled with cinnamon. No, but really, we’re obsessed with it.

It’s Fun. It’s Easy. And it’s healthy.

Did you know: Homemade vs. Store Bought

•Most store bought almond milk contains only a handful of almonds. With ‘almond’ in the name, you’d think it would have more than just a handful.

•Many store bought almond milk contains additives, where as homemade use all natural ingredients.

•Making your own allows you to control the flavor… Add a little more cinnamon or vanilla for some added flavor. It’s delicious!

•Store bought almond milk is typically more expensive than buying the ingredients and making it at home.

(I always double this recipe)

  1. Soak almonds in water overnight (enough to cover all the almonds)
  2. Drain water from almonds in the morning
  3. Put the drained almonds in the blender
  4. Add the 2.5 cups of water & dates to the blender. I always recommend Vitamix.
  5. Blend ingredients until smooth
  6. Pour/Squeeze through the nut bag into a measuring cup or large bowl
  7. Add 1-2 teaspoons vanilla extract and cinnamon to taste
  8. Transfer to a jar or milk jug to store & refrigerate

Add it to coffee, drink it plain, steam it to make a latte, and you can get extra healthy on us and add some Turmeric. So yummy.

    Hi! How do you steam your almond milk? I have a frother but it ends up being mostly foam. This looks delicious!!!!
