I could truly go on for forever about everything I love about Florence. It is where I called home for 5 months while I was in college. I know the streets by heart, I know the chefs at my favorite restaurants, and the antique jewelry stores. I even remember some Italian —it may be broken, but it still can order my gelato & vino! Italy has the best, true organic food, the most inviting people, and the best way of life, in my opinion. I grew accustomed to the relaxed pace, simplicity, efficiency and class that the Italians and the city of Florence possess. I couldn’t wait to share this part of my heart with Tyler! We ate dinner with the wonderful family I lived with in college, took private tours with my art history professor, wined, dined, and even bought a selfie stick —best 10 Euro we ever spent. We spent our days fueling up with cappuccinos, walking, eating, walking, more cappuccinos, more walking and of course, vino. Every girls dream, right?
Our home away from home was the J.K. Place Hotel that was recommended to us by our travel agent, Shannon Radel. It was our favorite hotel we’ve stayed in by far, like ever… and we have stayed in a lot of hotels. It was our definition of the perfect hotel, and we are perfectionists. It is ideally located in the city center, with a staff that feels like family. They provided the unparalleled room service, treated us like royalty, and even found places for our “rather unusual” requests like nude sketches to bring home with us! Our room was absolutely enchanting —white on white. How could we not love it?! Next time you are in Florence stay in the “Master Room” at the J.K. Place Hotel. We were obsessed with it, and you will be too.
